openssl x509 -in certificate.crt -out certificate.pem -outform PEM
Note: Files with .cer, .crt, and .pem extensions are often PEM format. If your .crt file already contains the following header (below), it’s already PEM encoded, so you can just rename its extension:

While OpenSSL version 3.X and later accept PEM- and DER-encoded input files, older versions do not and may require adding -inform DER to the command.

If you are installing a wildcard SSL certificate on cPanel, you need to specify the actual domain name, don't try to install it on *.domain.com , you have to install it on each subdomain such as admin.domain.com, shop.domain.com,..etc. Use the same certificate for each subdomain you install.
