Step One: Buy a Wildcard SSL Certificate<\/h3>\n

If you haven\u2019t already, the first thing you need to do before you can even start the installation process is purchase a wildcard SSL certificate and generate a certificate signing request (CSR). After all, you can\u2019t install what you don\u2019t have, can you?<\/p>\n

Step Two: Download and Extract your Wildcard SSL Certificate<\/h3>\n

To install your wildcard SSL certificate on FortiGate, you\u2019ll first need to get your digital certificate files.<\/p>\n

  1. Go to your inbox \u2014 You should have an email from the CA or company you purchased the certificate from. Download the .zip file that contains your wildcard SSL certificate.<\/li>\n

    Step Three: Install Your Intermediate CA Certificate Bundle<\/h3>\n

    You\u2019ll want to import your SSL certificate that\u2019s saved locally.<\/p>\n

    1. You\u2019ll need to log in to your FortiGate unit and go to the Settings.<\/li>\n
    2. Under the Import drop-down menu and select Import Local Certificate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. In the Type drop-down menu, choose the certificate that you wish to install \u2014 in this case, a PKCS #12 Certificate.<\/li>\n
    4. Select OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Step Four: Configure Your FortiGate Unit<\/h3>\n

      1. Go back to FortiGate and navigate to the VPN section. Under SSL, select Settings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      2. Look under the Connection Settings and find the Server Certificate<\/strong><\/li>\n
      3. Find the certificate you want to install in the drop-down menu.<\/li>\n
      4. Select Apply<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
