The process is actually quite easy \u2014 simply pick one of the TLS checker tools available on the internet and follow the instructions. Usually, all you need is to provide your website&#8217;s domain or IP address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this example, we\u2019ll use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssllabs.com\/ssltest\/index.html\">SSL Test online tool <\/a>from Qualys SSL Labs to check our blog\u2019s domain: cheapsslsecurity.com. This method doesn&#8217;t cost anything and provides a quick and easy way to check your domain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Check the TLS Version of a Domain in 4 Steps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These directions here are for website users or owners to check to see which version of the TLS protocol a website (moreover, its web server) supports. This way, you know whether your site offers <a href=\"https:\/\/cheapsslsecurity.com\/p\/what-is-perfect-forward-secrecy-in-ssl-tls\/\">perfect forward secrecy<\/a> to browsers that support TLS version 1.3 or if it\u2019s using TLS 1.2 as a minimum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>NOTE:<\/em><\/strong><em> Your <a href=\"https:\/\/cheapsslsecurity.com\/sslproducts.html\">SSL\/TLS certificate<\/a> really has no bearing on the TLS version that a server uses. This includes info relating to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>whether the website is vulnerable to different SSL\/TLS vulnerabilities (POODLE, BEAST, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if the site is vulnerable to SSL\/TLS compression attacks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>which versions of the SSL or TLS protocol the browser supports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s your turn now! We\u2019ve got you covered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Check the TLS Versions Supported By Your Browser<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This process is even easier than the last. Simply open up a new window in your favorite browser. Likewise, the results are largely the same in the Firefox and Microsoft Edge browsers \u2014 all three are listed as using TLS 1.3 for my website connection. If you scroll down on the page in each browser, you\u2019ll find almost entirely the same information.
