Quick guide to install SSL certificate on Microsoft IIS 5 & IIS 6<\/h2>\n

To successfully complete the SSL Installation process, you\u2019ll need to first install the appropriate intermediate certificate(s) before configuring your primary SSL certificate on your IIS machine.<\/p>\n

\"Install<\/h3>\n

Step 1: Download and Install SSL Certificate Files<\/h3>\n

Once the validation process is completed from the issuing Certificate Authority, we will email you a *.zip file that contains your SSL and Intermediate certificate. Download that *.zip file and extract all files into the directory where you wish to store your certificate files.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Intermediate SSL Certificate Installation<\/h3>\n

(1)<\/strong> Type Run<\/strong> from Start <\/strong>menu or press \u2018Windows + R<\/strong>\u2019 using keyboard<\/p>\n

(2)<\/strong> In Run type MMC<\/strong> and press Enter<\/p>\n

(3)<\/strong> Microsoft Management Console (MMC) dialog will appear<\/p>\n

(4)<\/strong> Under File menu click Add\/Remove Snap-in…<\/strong><\/p>\n

(5)<\/strong> Click the Add<\/strong> button and the Add Standalone Snap-in<\/strong> dialog will appear<\/p>\n

(6)<\/strong> Now select the Certificates<\/strong> option and press Add<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

(7) Certificates<\/strong> is been added in Snap-in<\/strong>, press OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

(8)<\/strong> Expand the Certificates option and right-click the Intermediate Certification Authorities <\/strong><\/p>\n

(9)<\/strong> Hover your mouse over All Tasks<\/strong> and click on Import<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

(10) Certificate Import Wizard<\/strong> will appear, press Next<\/strong><\/p>\n

(11)<\/strong> Browse for the Intermediate certificate file you saved and then press the Next <\/strong><\/p>\n

(12)<\/strong> Now select Place all certificates in the following store<\/strong>, click the Browse<\/strong> button, select Intermediate Certification Authorities<\/strong>, press OK<\/strong> and hit next button. (If Intermediate Certification Authorities <\/strong>is already selected then move to next step.)<\/p>\n

(13)<\/strong> Next window will display the details of the imported certificate.<\/p>\n

(14)<\/strong> Press the Finish<\/strong> button, import was successful<\/strong> alert will appear and then press OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

(15)<\/strong> Close the console 1<\/strong> and press No to remove the console<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 3: Primary SSL Certificate Installation<\/h3>\n

(1)<\/strong> In the control Panel on your windows, open administrative tools and open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

(2)<\/strong> Click on + (expand) next to your local computer<\/p>\n

(3)<\/strong> Again click on + next to the Web sites<\/strong><\/p>\n

(4)<\/strong> Now right click on the Host-Name\/Website for which you want to install Certificate, and then click on Property<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

(5)<\/strong> Here in the Default Web Site Properties<\/strong> window, click on the Directory Security<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

(6)<\/strong> Now click on Server Certificates<\/strong> and hit the Next<\/strong><\/p>\n

(7) IIS Certificate Wizard<\/strong> window will appear, select Process the pending request and install the certificate<\/strong> and press the Next<\/strong><\/p>\n

(8)<\/strong> Click on the Browse<\/strong> button, search for your primary certificate<\/strong> file (in .crt)<\/em> and then click on the Open<\/strong><\/p>\n

(9)<\/strong> Now in IIS Certificate Wizard <\/strong>dialog click the Next <\/strong>button<\/p>\n

(10)<\/strong> Here enter port number<\/strong> which you wish to use for your website and then press Next <\/strong><\/p>\n

(11) Certificate Summary <\/strong>will be display, confirm the details and then hit the Next<\/strong><\/p>\n

(12)<\/strong> Click the Finish <\/strong>button.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finally, your SSL Certificate and Intermediate Certificates are enabled in IIS 5 & IIS 6<\/p>\n
