Phone Number and Domain Ownership<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comodo&#x2122; verifies phone number by telecom provider or using third party database. For domain ownership Comodo &#x2122;asks for domain registrar information. If the domain registrar information is hidden Comodo&#x2122; will cancel the issuance request.<\/p>\n<p>Note: Domain privacy may be suspended until the domain ownership verification process is completed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Trade Name\/DBA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comodo may ask some organizations to verify their trade name\/DBA with the use of third party database systems<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. GeoTrust has described list of entities which can apply for EV SSL certificates.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Government Agencies<\/li>\n<li>Unincorporated Associations<\/li>\n<li>Sole Proprietorships<\/li>\n<li>General partnerships<\/li>\n<li>Corporations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following Authentication documents are required:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Business\/Organization authentication<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GeoTrust will asks for the following list of organization documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Government Agencies\/organization: Official government agency records including the Organization\u2019s registration number, date of registration and address.<\/li>\n<li>If the organization that is applying for the EV SSL is registered for less than 3 years, GeoTrust verifies its identity by following documents:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Verifying via a non-government data source (e.g., Dun &amp; Bradstreet information).<\/li>\n<li>By checking the organization\u2019s demand deposit account directly through the financial institution or via a lawyer\u2019s opinion letter.<\/li>\n<li>Approver also needs to include non-government data sources such as the organization\u2019s address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Domain Authentication<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To issue an EV SSL certificate GeoTrust needs the domain registrar details. The registered domain name must match the domain name which the user wishes to secure with the EV SSL certificate.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GeoTrust only approves a domain name which is registered with ICANN or IANA registrar.<\/li>\n<li>The domain name which the user wishes to secure with the EV SSL certificate must match with the domain name entered while generating CSR.<\/li>\n<li>If the domain registrar details are kept private by the admin, he will need to unblock it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3.
